4/22/23 NMS Pageant was a huge success! Thank you to Ms. Mills, NMS Pageant Sponsor and all parties who assisted in making this event take place. Contestants did a fantastic job!

The NMS Tiger Chorus Salutes the 80s on Thursday, May 11th in the NMS gym. There will be a free concert for the school at 2pm and a minimum $2.00 donation per person at the 6:30pm performance at the door/admissions table. Note: Folks can give a larger donation if they wish per Mr. O'Brien. The concert will feature the NMS Tiger Chorus and solo performances by 6th, 7th, and 8th grade singers. Professional sound and lights will be part of this 80's pop/rock experience and the students will be backed up by BREAKING ELEVEN, Mr. O'Brien's 80's cover band. Don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind concert event that celebrates an amazing decade in music while supporting our young performers at NMS!

Any rising 9th grade student interested in dance next year at Newberry High will need to attend an interest meeting at NHS on May 1st at 3:30. For more information, email tsheppard@sdnc.org.

STEM NIGHT (4/13) was a huge success! Thank you to Mrs. Fuller your work as a lead teacher with this endeavor. All NMS Science teachers were in attendance and did a fantastic job with their events. Thank you to all NMS faculty & staff who attended this event. It was great to see over 200 students and parents in the building for this event. (Well Done!) Go Tigers

Note: Thank you to Mrs. Teresa Coleman (Media Specialist) & Mrs. Bonnie Frick, Media Specialist Assistant) They both do a fantastic job at NMS and we are lucky to have them both at NMS. National School Librarian Day is observed internationally on April 4th. (Day over spring break 2023) The day is observed to recognize the professionals who keep school libraries well-stocked and books in perfect order. School librarians spend long hours keeping the library organized and are likely to be the first to help students find resources they need to learn. They encourage students to pursue reading outside of academic texts and are responsible for creating an environment where students are motivated to learn. We celebrate , Mrs. Teresa Coleman & Bonnie Frick. Go Tigers! 🐅 tiger 🐾 ‘s up!!!
